Marken has two petrol / gas stations, and we are only 15 kilometres away from the nearest one. Most of them operate 24-hours a day and have small shops and ATM machines on the premises. Please note that at some fuel stations fuel can still only be purchased with South African rands.
In South Africa the standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in South Africa, if the standard voltage in your country is in be-tween 220 – 240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa).
Designed by local craftsmen, the accommodation is set in an indigenous garden, dotted by camel thorn trees, adorned by colourful butterflies, and enclosed by an amphitheatre of hills bordering Botswana.
We sleep up to 14 guests in thatched accommodation and eight in a tented camp.
The public guest area comprises both indoor and outdoor living and dining areas, a bar to sip on a gin and tonic while playing chess, and a library to pick up knowledge about mammals in southern Africa. All of this opens out to a swimming pool and lazy lounges.
