Guests enjoy a private, exclusive and comfortable experience in a rustic setting. Accommodation comprises thatched chalets, each sleeping two and there are two singles. Well-kitted tented camps overlook the bush where animals roam freely. The thatch keeps the rooms cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Upright fans are available for each room. The lockable rooms have cupboards with hanging space, dressing table, luggage racks and bathroom facilities. A safe is available for storage of valuables.
The lodge comprises six rondavels or African dwellings. Two of the rondavels have king-sized beds and the rest have single beds and/or the option of an additional day bed. The tented camps; which are walking distance from the main lodge; have beds, hot water, ablutions, a boma and kitchen.
Our Welcome Pack, which you will receive upon confirmation of your booking, contains practical information for what you should bring, advice on personal items such as medication, sun care, allergies, clothing, mobile reception and insect protection.
Designed by local craftsmen, iganu, the place of the marula tree, is perched in an indigenous garden under blue skies with year-round sunshine, exquisite butterflies, yellow hornbills and antelope roaming freely in a predator-free environment.
iganu is a short drive away from the one horse town of Marken and four hours from Johannesburg. A part of the Waterberg biosphere in Limpopo, the lodge is cosy, sleeping 10 in well crafted thatched huts and eight in professionally attired tented camps.
Privacy, exclusivity and personal service with friends and family is guaranteed if guests book the entire lodge.
